A very simple, almost abstract, winter landscape from back in December 2017.

This giant dome, in fairly remote country west of Bridge of Orchy, possesses an undeniable aura that somehow successfully challenges some of its arguably more celebrated neighbours.

I remember hanging around on nearby Beinn Suidhe, hoping for some kind of reward for my patience, as the day neared its early midwinter end. Well, this happened . . .

. . . or Am Binnein, according to the signage at Inverlochlarig (local knowledge is usually more accurate).

Plenty of spring snow around yesterday (16th April 24), on a bracing day of fierce northerly winds.

Earlier on, near here, I was ambushed by violent wind updrafts projecting liberal quantities of snow spin-drifts high into the air surrounding me.
This chaotic maelstrom was quite a situation to be immersed in &, inbetween spells of being totally blinded (no goggles), had me in fits of giggles at the sheer absurdity of it all.

. . . with Cruach Àrdrain attempting to 'photo-bomb' on the far left.

Those two yet again - seemingly floating on a very extensive sea of low-lying fog, which had flooded much of central Scotland's plains on a recent winter morning.

This was taken from the fairly distant Campsie Fells (or simply 'the Campsies' if you're a Glaswegian like me).

Taken on the first day of meteorological spring last year, this little vantage point below Binnein Mòr provided a pleasing frame for some very recognisable Lochaber giants.
