Brúarfoss ('Bridge Falls'), one of Iceland's hidden gems, is a small waterfall in size but it doesn't pale in comparison to the well known waterfalls in terms of its beauty.
It is famous for its brilliantly blue color and it's regarded as "Iceland's Bluest Waterfall."
The waterfall is fed by Brúará River, which flows from Langjökull glacier. This glacial water is responsible for its sky blue color.
Brúará falls 2-3 meters (6.5-9.8 feet) before making a U-turn at the base of the waterfall, where it is concentrated into a deep crevice running through the center of dark volcanic rock formations.
This results in sky-blue rapids, the vistas are made all the more beautiful by the surrounding lush green flora, which provides a stark contrast to the flowing water.
