The male flew in & landed on female. Male slightly smaller & no yellow spots @ rear of thorax. Good comparison of size of M&F. Male obviously told to move on & no mating took place. Female remained on same leaf & a picture of her is next one

4 species of Symmorphus mason wasps in UK, hope ID is right. Nest in banks, walls, stems & provision with larvae of Leaf beetles. they are parasitized by cuckoo wasps. Seen today in our local wood.
