From Isafjordur we did a 1hour 20minute boat trip to the abandoned village of Hesteyri on the remote peninsula of Hornstrandir National nature reserve. Village was abandoned in 1952. This dramatic sky was on the way but we did not get rained on in all 4 days in Iceland. the smudge of white middle left is a bit of the Drangajokull glacier, the smallest one in Iceland

The 2 still photos of Gullfoss I promised to upload on the little video. In the higher level photo people can be seen walking the path to forward viewpoint where they get drenched with spray, not for us. their size gives an impression of how high the cliff is. there are steel steps to get down to lower level viewpoint, I did not count them but must be over 200 steps! A magnificent sight & we were so lucky to get the rainbow. A highlight on our golden circle tour from Reykjavik.
