More experimental zoom shots today. All sooc except slight in camera trim for the wider view photos so exif is shown. the close up Muntjac head is full 3000mm zoom with the P1000 from approx 15-18 yards.
These close up shots of the Muntjac's head were @ full 3000mm zoom from 15-18yards. Those who know Titchwell will have seen the distance from the seat by the visitor centre & the feeder rail. I think the camera was set in P mode macro setting for these close up shots

Misty gloomy morning & I am not able to walk far at moment, but had to get out for a short walk to see the Glossy Ibis in the flood meadow along Thornham bank this morning. An unusual but not uncommon visitor from warmer climes to here in Norfolk. Only record shots with the new camera, taken @ 1600mm zoom & a high iso for the tiny sensor it has.

2 more max zoom test shots from the Nikon P1000 this morning. The Greenfinch is on top of my Viburnum tree above one of my feeders. I was able to pace out the distance after @ 18 yards (54 feet). Zoom was max @ 3000mm. Unusually for me I am posting these @ full size & SOOC. The first one is the same photo using the in camera re-touch "High" to produce a new & 2nd photo in camera. For comparison the 2nd photo is the original as the camera produced it. exif should be visible should you like to advise me on settings. Conditions were again very dull this morning

The well known Short-eared Owl that roosts @ Snettisham for past 3/4 year in winter. Only visible though from the far side of the pool. Taken @ 3000mm zoom just after the sun came out

I did a little video of the Wells Rough-legged Buzzard that has been here 3/4 weeks now. Always distant but good to see. I still cannot hold the camera steady for video in full 3000mm zoom. I therefor grabbed a few stills out of it. The video of the geese i just posted was @ wide angle & therefor the camera was easier to hold steady
