I think there's 3 reasons to make transition to secondary weapon. out of primary weapon's ammo, malfunctions, and in CQB range where hard to handle a carbine rifle. Transition is for "just in case" technique, and almost all of tactical shooters training to get ready for that.

In close quarter situation, firepower doesn't matter but important thing is how to neutralize the threat faster.

Moves more closer to target, hook the right leg and grab shotgun's receiver, push it to turn the barrel upward, makes target unstabilize, then "shoot" her in close range. you don't need to aim, just shoot rapidly.

To stabing weapon, more simple, put yourself on the corner and shoot the target fast as you can. if you have rifle scope, switching the offset sight to aim more closer target.

Combat Reload is performed when the handgun's magazine has been emptied during the fire-fight and the slide has locked back.
