Please view large! Sunset and storm, Gunsite peak and Anthony lake, Elkhorn mountains, Oregon; one of the greatest light-shows I have ever seen. Very unique light. Like a laser-beam! No filters of any kind were used on this image.

I took my brother up here for his first time. And we had a big thunderstorm roll through. I dragged him out to the lake, and it was totally grey and socked in. He wanted to go back after a while, and I told him to wait some more. I started to look around the other direction, and I suddenly heard, Brandon scream like a little school girl. When I turned around, this is what I saw!

I usually don't shoot really popular subjects unless I feel I can capture it differently enough to show it. I hope I did her proud here.

The clouds pay an important role in the composition, and I think every element is where it is suposed to be, including the water horizon which is set off center slightly because of the importance of the cloud reflection.

One of my B+W masterpieces; definitely one of my favorites! :)

FYI. This scene was one of the greatest light-shows I have seen, and I have dramatic color versions of this, however the tones and drama I got from shooting this in black and white blow the color version out of the water; I most likely will never show them. Honestly, I don't have a strong desire to shoot trillium any longer becuase I know it would be imposible to beat this shot (at least for me).

I have been to this scene in Prescott Arizona, several times and never had found "the great light." I'm happy with this one. This is the highest water level I have ever seen in Watson lake.

2 stop hard grad filter. This was shot in my camera's vivid channel.
