Here Jules sweeps in to prevent Alba from manhandling his Nagra. He says it's Swiss, and very precise. She says he's being very Swiss.

Kudelski built his first Nagra in 1951. In 1961, he introduced the Nagra III NP, the first Nagra usable for film work. Nagra became the standard recorder for all those who needed high quality sound recordings from the field - film makers, ethnographers, reporters and musicians.

The word nagra means "will record" in Polish, Kudelski's native language. Kudelski's family left Poland in 1939, to escape the Nazis. They ended up in Switzerland.

I first became aware of Kudelski's Nagra in the 1981 French film Diva, in which our hero Jules uses his Nagra to record the live performance of his beloved diva, Cynthia Hawkins.
