from my reading: metering
The centre weighted metering concentrates the majority of
its attention to the central half to third portion of the image.
This is good for many situations where a rapid reading is needed.
The spot-metering concentrates all of its reading into an even lighter central area,
can be 5 to 10% of the image.
This is best for high luminance-range lighting conditions.Like a very bright area with a dark surrounding.
This method have to aim ver carefully.
I ever tried on a small flower about 15mm. I got a wrong exposure image in my first try as i didn't point to the corectpoint to get the reading.
