While en route to Montreal recently, my wife and I stopped in Rivière-du-Loup for lunch...and to see what was moving. Limited by the lack of English speaking crews on the scanner, a visual was required to locate "quatre cent trois". A quick check revealed that 402 had yet to arrive, so we grabbed a bite before returning to the west end of the yard. CN A40311 21 is seen backing a load of chips into RL37 in the midst of a heavy snow squall, for unloading for the FF Soucy paper mill. The chips have traveled from the Lebel sawmill in Nouvelle via the SFG, and then interchanged with CN at Matapedia before making the trek down the Mont-Joli Sub and landing here. Oh and the cans off to the right of the train? A40221 21 arriving from Joffre with a pair of ho-hum GEs.
