At this time of year, as the dark nights roll in, it becomes easier to take camera tosses. Unfortunately the wee cheap p&s I use for this is on its last legs. Too many tosses and catches have weakened its bits and pieces so now it keeps switching off when I try to use it. With perseverance I managed a few, this being a crop from the best of them. The light source is the community lighting seen through my window. I'll be on the lookout now for a new, cheap and robust P&S.

I've never noticed how sad this wee monkey appears. Some West End wifie has knitted an acorn beret for it in sympathy. The statue is "King Robert of Sicily" inspired by a Longfellow poem and sculpted by George Henry Paulin c1927
