The Östra Södermanlands Järnväg (ÖSLJ) is a heritage 600 mm gauge line southwest of Stockholm. The first section was opened on 24 Jult 1966 using the trackbed of an old SJ branchline, closed two years before, between Mariefred and Läggesta nedre.
In May 1995 the old alignment of the Norra Södermanlands Järnväg was replaced by a faster route, so the ÖSLJ started to operate the original Norra Södermanlands Järnväg between Läggesta nedre and Taxinge-Näsby as its second heritage line. At first this line kept its 1435 mm gauge, but between 2009 and 2011 it was regauged to 600 mm. Finally, the new V-shaped 600 mm heritage system was inaugurated on 25 May 2011.
