A little blast from the past - I'm still scanning negatives from some of my old archives, and this was taken out of a hotel room (Victoria Hotel) in Cairo in July 1992.
A building site opposite that fascinated me by the lack of equipment, manual labour and very little if any H & S!
I can't imagine why these buildings don't withstand certain natural disasters!

In case you're wondering "Tempus Fugit" is a Latin phrase that translates to "time flies" and can often be seen on the face of grandfather clocks etc ...

A black and white process of my previous image - any preference?
A wintery Saturday led to the thought of perhaps some table top photography. This image was inspired by a scene I saw some months back whilst watching an episode of 'Endeavour' on TV.
The props used in creating this are a black office chair, an old pencil and travel diary, an old Manawatu map dating from c1958 and a rather lovely 1970's Smiths stopwatch.
Naturally lit whilst using a Lee 0.9 ND filter and polariser to get the desired 2.5 seconds shutter speed for the hands to appear to be moving in the image!
