I went back to Holbrook for the weekly Apache road train and saw that the "Apache Ry." lettering had been added to the long hood of the 800. This essentially completes the repainting of the unit into its as delivered paint scheme from September 1962. The old unit looks awesome, and I can't wait to see it being moved and placed on its display track at the courthouse!

Today's bonus rerun OARCB (old ass rivet counter boomer) mundane high sun, silver box, gravel pile, leaning, wirey, mindless wedgie! Continuing with my 1992 vacation, I've left Oregon behind, again, and Idaho too, making a fast trip home.
So let's return now to those thrilling days of yesteryear and pick up where I last left off in my never ending fetish to capture a train in a perfect NGPN (National Geographic Pristine Nature) setting.

So today the Wayback Machine is set to 10:48am, on Saturday, October 10, 1992 east of Booneville, Iowa as I am once again stopped on my eastward trip home.

CSX L452 is at the former east end of the siding at Brownstown, Indiana with an SD70MAC leader and a huge train out of the cement plant at Mitchell passing one of the only B&O brackets left in southern Indiana. With the siding no longer in place, the control point will be replaced by an all-new intermediate to the east.
