For those of my Canadian pals who have been watching the new fictional television show on Global TV Combat Hospital we know this is just entertainment depicitng a country where our Canadian Forces Medical Corps personnel happen to be.

Here at home, I know these real life unsung heros as members of the Canadian Forces Health Services Group. I have the good fortune of working with the finest trained medical personnel here in Kingston.

At our CO's coffee break recongnition is given to those at our unit who may be getting promoted, who have had a letter of commendation, have assisted where they were needed and of course we always recognize those fallen but not forgotten.

On Friday, two unsung heros who were in a real life Combat Hosptial setting were awarded a commendation from when they served with the Royal Canadian Regiment as their medical support personnel.

Normally I don't post my photos from work however, I wanted to introduce the world of flickr to just two of the countless unsung heros of Canada's Health Services Group "Med Techs".

There are many, many more unsung heros out there and they go unrecognized in day to day life. You pass them in the grocery store, you are along side them filling up your car for gas, you may be in a line at the bank with them. They are unsung heros because you don't know who they are, what they have done or how they have helped many young men and women so that today they are home, alive with their families.

Thank God for unsung heros.

Let's see. We are looking at May of 2015 here ( yes, I am still going through hard drives - this is my new "job" now and the boss is a slave driver LOL ) with this small group of just some the fun folks at 33 CF Health Services that I had the pleasure to work along side for many years.

I'll raise you two Doctors, a PA, a Social Worker, an EA, SSM and of course a great CO! All of whom were helping to promote a healthy lifestyle of exercise as a Team.

I was there in my "unofficial self proclaimed 33 CF Health Services Unit photographer". I miss my friends and colleagues that I came to know over my many years as a CAF member and then later as a Federal Public Servant working once again with members of the CAF.

As Mary Hopkin once sang "those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end".

I want to thank you for your visits, comments and faves and, although I may not get to thank you please know that I am appreciative of them.

A first year cadet at Royal Military College partakes in the annual obstacle course. He had to carry this sandbag through the mud on his belly crawling through a simulated trench of water and then run it back to where he first picked it up.

It's a team building exercise and of course there is the rivalry among the different "houses" at RMC from what I saw. It was well worth my taking my own time to be able to get down and photograph some of our future military leaders of tomorrow having a fun afternoon even if the clouds opened up.
