FRED (an acronym because we who were in the CAF or now work as public servants for the CAF know that DND loves acronyms) is GP's idea. He has bought FRED to allow him to travel in his moon rover (not seen here - this is VW bus that will take him to the launch pad) to adventures far and wide (usually in the moon craters in the roads of Central Frontenac that they have yet to fill or patch).
