I went looking for the Trumpeter Swans this morning and alas they were not on the River. I drove a bit further down Ardoch Road as I knew I wanted a photo of the Ice Huts on Maclom Lake.

Ice Fishing is a great sport for some anglers (I know some anglers that don't like ice fishing at all - too much work to drill a hole in the ice they say LOL).

GP likes to Ice Fish as does our oldest son and our youngest grandson. Our son has both a hut and a tent like hut that he can use as well depending on where he goes. GP though will not go on the ice unless it is a good 18" thick or more.

Malcom Lake is in the Fisheries Management Zone 18. Ice huts on Malcom Lake have to be registered with the MNR - Ontario Government and there are regulations about Ice Huts.

Here at Malcom Lake the huts must be removed by 15 March or before the ice breakup.
