On this night we headed to Sandcut Beach near Jordan River on Vancouver Island.
The hope was to try and capture some Milky Way images with the waterfall as a foreground.
That idea quickly changed when I realized just how gorgeous the moonlight was.
That setting half moon over the Pacific ocean was one of the most beautiful sights I've ever witnessed.
This was shaping up to be the perfect night until I just about macaronied my pantaloons out of sheer terror.
You see, while I was busy shooting, Amanda had fallen asleep on the beach about 100 yards away, snug in her sleeping bag.
She'd been asleep for at least a couple of hours so at 1.20am I was NOT expecting to turn to my left to discover a sheeted figure standing silently 15ft away in eerie dappled moonlight.
After a few expletives and some soiled underwear, I'd lost all interest in shooting the Milky Way.
The drive home was somewhat.... terse.
At least we're still talking but that's two years of heart beats that I'll never get back.
