Ok, I realize it's a bit short notice but the stars aligned (literally) and so far the weather seems to be cooperating (hope I don't regret saying that) so here it is - my 'Milky Way Photography Workshop on Vancouver Island.

Just a couple of hours after we were lucky enough to photograph one of the best sunsets I've ever seen, this happened.

Shot with the Sony A7R and Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 lens.

I lit the foreground from various directions using my headlamp for both hard light and soft light and then blended the layers carefully to get a pleasing look.

30" exposure at f/2.8.
