Nothing common about the Common Kingfisher where I live, 99% of them dying during the harsh northern winters we had these last few years
I had to travel quite a bit to even get a glimpse of one. Taken in very unfavourable light as he landed for only a split second on a pole at a 'mere' 12m before flying on.
Plenty of room for improvement, but still glad to be able to add this one to the life-list (-;
