The übercool Broad-bordered Bee Hawk-moth (Hemaris fuciformis).
Thrilled to have one unexpectedly appear in front of my lens.
They hover over flowers like hummingbirds - and the similar hummingbird hawk moth. (see 2nd comment).
Very restless and fast moving and alas also not the optimal camera setttings.
But too rare not to post.
First sighting in 5 years.
Size: not that big, similar to a large earth bumble bee, but not nearly as fat (-;
