I was able to view the Manistee leaving Manistee (northern Michigan town). The Manistee had just unloaded at one of the industries on Manistee Lake and was heading out into Lake Michigan. USCGC Katmai Bay is a 140 foot Bay-class Icebreaking Tug home ported at the US Coast Guard Sector in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, located in the Ninth Coast Guard District.
Saw the Katmia Bay leave the dock at St Ignace, Mi and steam out across the straits past Mackinaw Island . Believe was heading out to free a trapped barge off the island.
