Spent the week in the Olympic Peninsula. We stayed on a bluff over looking this scene. This shot was taken from the start of the Dungeness Spit, looking out at the New Dungeness Lighthouse with Mt Baker in the background. The Spit is locate on the southern side of Strait of Juan de Fuca.

The Sooty and Dusky grouse are 2 different grouse once known together as the Blue Grouse. I believe from looking at various sites this is a Sooty. ( she had 3 almost full grown chicks with her). Either way a life bird.

Was just enough water left in this pool for the Giant Green Anemones to be open , along with the various shades of the Purple Sea Stars

Olympic marmots are endemic to Olympic National Park and surrounding national forest areas. They are active about four and a half months each year.
