Our church is still empty (due to the pandemic) so I took the chance to photograph it in peace and quiet. As an experiment, I took the 200-500mm lens. I never took it off the tripod until the very last shot.

Here, a commemorative plaque and the reflection on the pews caught my eye.

It’s just me, making a visual point. We are slowly but surely blinding ourselves by cluttering the world with things designed to get our attention but which we train ourselves to ignore.

I had to take a walk towards sunset just to see how the ice storm is progressing. We’ve dodged the bullet in my county so far but it isn’t over yet. As a matter of fact, the lights are flickering again as I type this. I’ll talk later.

For those that "ain't from around here" and might not get the cultural reference...

It was a most interesting morning. There were a lot of pictures to choose from. A friend mentioned having to get up at the “crack of dawn” — about 2 hours after this picture was made. So, this is the picture I picked for today.

I love the ones I don’t have to crop. I almost said “fix” but seeing as I don’t process images….

For those new to my photography -- unless I tell you -- I don’t retouch (or otherwise process) images. It’s sort of strange in the world of digital photography but…there you have it. It’s not better or worse. It just is. I shoot JPEGs and email them to Flickr. That’s it.
