A solo AC44 with an amazing Forward Facing RL K5HL leads the daily empty Intermodal train from Mexico City to the Manzanillo ports, the train has just left yard limits and starts to pick up speed as it heads north.

A pair of elephant style 4600's are in charge of the heavy QVCGD, a loaded Gasoline train from Veracruz, Ver to Guadalajara, Jal, 100+ tankers fully loaded with imported liquid from Valero Energy.
Another pair of GE's are helping in the mid while a solo ACe brings the rear.

We go back in time to better times, June, 2016.
Back in this era, FXE did an order for 50 brand new ES44AC's, but due to a massive backlog on orders for other RR's, GE was not able to deliver the units to FXE in time, so, in compensation, they sent the 25 ES44's in the CREX 1500's series (1501-1525). These units were here for almost 2 years working everywhere on the FXE system moving all kinds of trains, sadly none made it to FSRR.
Here, we see the brand new 1507 (now CN 3973) parked in the FTVM engine shops waiting for GE personal as it was not generating a correct amount of horsepower on it's last load test.
Such amazing looking units, I still kick myself for not being able to shoot em as much as I wanted (specially leading) thanks to school :/

One of the sexiest locomotives ever built, the SDP40.
The 3227 is part of only 4 on the Ferromex roster that once carried that model ID, now all have been rebuilt to SD40-2 standards, AND it's also part of only 2 that "keep" the original carbody, FXE 3209 being the other.
FXE 3212 & 3228 got the carbody modified on the rear and they no longer have the part where the steam generator would be located at.

Cause they're new only once...

Decided to do a small Throwback Thursday for today's post, we go back to late 2016 when both Ferromex and Ferrosur were receiving brand new ES44AC's from a 50 unit order.
Here, brand new FSRR 4836 serves as the rear DPU on a RTOMX manifest train, this would be it's first ever trip to Mexico City before making it's way to Ferrosur territory where it will spend most of it's life.
