The Great Wall at Simatai. The view eastwards from Tower 10, after which the wall is not currently publicly accessible due to safety concerns.
A little wooden plaque at Tower 5 states, in Chinese and English, simply—"Simatai, the most wonderful section of the Great Wall of China." I'm no expert on the other sections of the Great Wall of China, but I'm inclined to agree!
This section of the Great Wall is one of the few of the major tourist sections not to have been substaintially modernised to deal with visitor numbers, but to retain its Ming Dynasty character. It has lots of very steep steps and is quite narrow in places.
Incidentally, this also the easternmost point on which I have stood on Planet Earth.

Just off Qianmen Street, Beijing's Knightsbridge. Just a hint of mist in the air gives it a bit more atmosphere. I think the light pool that runs essentially the entire width of the shot in the foreground hilds the whole thing together and makes it work, but I wasn't even aware of it when I took the shot!

Monkey King always has the most fun, as you'll remember from that Hong Kong childrens' TV show they used to show with bad dubbing when you were a kid. Scene shot at the theatre in Pengzhen, Sichuan.
