I have to love the retro color palettes found in many towns and cities where there are older buildings.

At the site of the wreck of the Peter Iredale there is a distinct feeling of being unstuck in time. In the photo you'll notice that each figure appears twice as if then and now or perhaps ever so slightly in the future. They have all been here before--if only slivers of a tick of time before creating an echo of a past and present--now and the future. Confusing and freeing. You can exist any "when" you wish.
This image is greatly influenced by 19th century master oil painter and watercolorist JMW Turner. His work was criticized at the time as "soap suds and whitewash" because he painted light and atmosphere instead of solid objects. His paintings most often depicted storms on the sea, ships battered by the elements. The coast is the place to learn about color and light.
