Taken on our Alaskan cruise, here are some seals napping outside of Juneau. The Orcas will come and pick them off the buoy for a meal.

This is a fjord in the inner passage in Alaska that leads up to a glacier. The ice from the glacier can be seen on the water. For perspective, I am on the top deck of the ship, 10 floors up.

In Juneau, Alaska. I liked the different elements in the fore and background. This was while I was still a neophyte with my digital cameras, using the original Digital Canon Rebel. We were on a photo excursion to shoot whales while we were on our Alaska cruise. My jpeg was horribly underexposed, see below. I opened it in CS4 and saved a -2 and a +2 exposure. Then sent the original and the two "new" exposures to Photomatix Pro for HDR treatment. I think it ended up looking decent, not as good as if I used raw like we do now for HDR as I lost detail in the underexposed areas. I guess we live and learn with our photography and that is what makes it so wonderful!
