Fluidr / Øvre torg, Kristiansand, Norway by gormjarl

Upper square is a square in Kristiansand. It is located east of Kristiansand Cathedral in the axis of Rådhusgata. Kirkegata delimits Øvre torv towards Nedre torv in the southwest and Kristiansand town hall has a facade towards the square in the northeast. In the southeast, the square is bounded by a number of buildings that house municipal offices, among these the former fire station and Fædrelandsvennen's former city center building. Northwest of the square is Wergelandsparken. The term «town hall square» characterizes Øvre torv. The upper turf is paved with old cobblestones that came to light when the asphalt was removed.
