A gravel and dirt farm road leads down to the Roulette Farm and the large bank barn that was built somewhere after 1810 when John Miller and his family owned the farm. At the time of the Civil War battle of Antietam on September 17, 1862 the farm was owned and operated by William Roulette and his family and that is the name the farm has gone by ever since. Antietam still stands as the bloodiest one day battle in American history with a combined tally of dead, wounded, and missing at 22,717. Over 700 dead, both Union and Confederate ended up being buried in the fields on the Roulette Farm after the battle.
