Looking down into the 250,000 square foot Blower House at Bethlehem Steel reveals the giant flywheels that were part of the mechanism at the plant that produced power for the five blast furnaces. The steel company ceased operations at the Bethlehem plant in 1995. In doing research I came across an announcement from a trade newspaper called Industrial Week where in volume 62 from June 13th 1918 it was said that Bethlehem Steel had just opened contract bids for the construction of this blower house which, at the time, was only a $6,000 contract. My how building prices have changed.

Technical details:
Nikon F2 Photomic 35mm film camera. Nikkor 55mm F3.5 Micro AI lens.
Ilford FP4+ 125 ISO B&W film shot at ISO 250.
Aperture F11.
Developed in Diafine for 4 minutes (part A) and 4 minutes (part B) @ 20 degrees Celsius in Paterson 3 reel tank. 5 seconds initial agitation with swizzle stick followed by 5 seconds of additional agitation ever minute thereafter.
Negative scanned with Epson 4990 on holders with ANR glass.
