The Cooper Grist Mill was built in 1826 by Nathan Cooper. It replaced an earlier mill built in the same location in the 1760s by Isaiah Younglove. Today, during the Spring and Summer months, visitors can watch the massive water wheel power shafts and gears that turn 2,000-pound mill stones as the master miller, in period costume, explains the history of the mill and the vibrant community once called Milltown. The mill is located in Chester, Morris County, New Jersey.

The W.E. Custer Mill was built in 1913 in Milton, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. W.E. Custer operated the mill until he died in 1943. Custer ground flour and also made scratch feed for chickens. The mill had a grain storage capacity of 10,000 bushels. It utilized a roller bearing system powered by a 35 horsepower electric motor which drove the feed department and receiving separator, and an additional 20 horsepower motor to drive the flour department. The mill was lit with electricity but heated by a hot air furnace. The mill footprint is 30x60 feet, with a one-story attached warehouse. Subsequent mill owners continued to operate it until 1962, after which it stood idle for decades. In recent years a new owner seems to have occupied the mill, making many improvements, such as new windows.

The Stover-Myers Mill, comprises 26 acres along the Tohickon Creek in Bedmnster Township on Dark Hollow Road and the creek in Pipersville. Originally, this mill started as a water-powered gristmill/sawmill and was later powered by steam. Owned by Jacob Stover in the early 1800's, the Stover-Myers Mill produced flour and animal feed for regional and local consumption. Jacob repeatedly modernized it to make the mill more efficient which was later needed in order to keep up with the ever-changing market. As a result, it remained competitive for over 150 years.
Like many gristmills, the mill stayed within the family long after Jacob passed away. Unfortunately, mid-western competition ceased the milling of flour around 1920. The mill did continue to operate as a feed mill and acted as an agricultural retail supplier until 1955, when it closed completely. Bucks County purchased Stover-Myers Mill in 1967 to make it a public park and open it for tours. Since 1978, the mill was added to the national list of historic places in 1978.
