High atop Shade Mountain in Snyder County, Pennsylvania stands Mt Pigsah Altar. It was built by Robert Cryan of Beaver Springs in 1979 and offered to the public as a place where people could come and worship quietly or hold marriage ceremonies with a breathtaking view of 25-30 miles.

Since I stumbled on this church while researching several years ago, I've been oddly drawn to it for reasons I can't quite describe. Its architecture is very out of place for the extreme rural Sullivan County, Pennsylvania setting it is in, and yet there it is out on the border of a forested area and large plowed farm fields. The Saints Phillip and James Church is known to the locals as "Sugar Run Church" and "St John Neuman Shrine". The structure was built in the 1850s and blessed by St John Neuman in 1854. It was the first Catholic church in the region. The church is only open a few times a year for ceremonial masses.

This is the employee's area where they would hang up coats and hats and put on their work aprons for the workday at Thomas Edison's laboratories and machine shops. It's a fascinating place well worth the time to explore all the floors and the outside buildings as well. Thomas Edison National Historic Park in West Orange, New Jersey. A workforce of about 100 men worked in small teams under Edison's direction to research and produce many of the finished items that came from the labs.

The laboratory buildings at the Thomas Edison National Historic Park represent a well-preserved collection of over 400,000 items connected to Edison and his inventions and research.
