The Old Southeast Church in Brewster, Putnam County, NY was originally built in 1794 to serve the needs of the faithful in the town of Southeast, NY. In 1830 the building was severely damaged by fire and was rebuilt with a few alterations to both the internal and external design which included the addition of the belfry and the moving of the enterance. The architecture of the church follows many of the guidelines normally seen in colonial meetinghouses throughout much of New England, to the north. Today, the church is owned and maintained by the Landmarks Preservation Society.
The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, the first location in Putnam County to be added to the list.

The Wells Valley Chapel was built in 1853. The congregation later merged with nearby Oak Grove in 1929. Located in Fulton County, Pennsylvania.

The Mount Joy Church was built in 1860 and used until 1982 when it was closed due to falling attendance. It was the second church to face that fate within a one-mile area, the Harmony Church being the first. Harmony Church is now an exhibit hall used during the annual Harmony Grange Fair. Mt Joy Church sits abandoned, its internal ceiling falling in even after receiving a new tin roof ten years ago. While photographing, I met the neighbor who cuts the lawn at the church. As a child, he and his brother were paid $1 a week to load and start the coal stove each week before Sunday services were held at the church.

The Ellenton Chapel sits in the tiny hamlet of Ellenton within Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. I have not been able to locate much historical information about the chapel up to this point. I have visited and photographed the chapel at least four times and I will be photographing it more in the coming years and pursuing additional information as it is available.

An image made within the cemetery of the Immanuel Episcopal Church in New Castle, Delaware. Operating continuously since 1689, it is the oldest Anglican parish in Delaware and the oldest continuously operating Anglican/Episcopal parish in the US. The church building was constructed between 1703 and 1708 and enlarged in 1822. The interior and roof were rebuilt following a disastrous fire in 1980.
