The Shreve Chapel was built in 1879 by the members of the Shreve Chapel Log Church who had an original log church built on the same location in 1848. Revered John Shreve was the church's founder and led the church until his death on 8-31-1871. The church cemetery was founded in 1922. The property was sold to the Shreves Chapel Cemetery Association in 1991. Off to the far right, you can see the church outdoors activity area which includes a picnic pavilion and a covered outdoor preaching altar.

Old Drawyer's Presbyterian Church is located alongside Route 13 in St. Georges Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware. The building was constructed, in the American Georgian Architectural style, Built in 1773 to replace an earlier church that had been built in the 1730s. The church congregation was first organized in the early 1700s. This building was left empty when the congregation moved to a new church in Odessa in 1861. In 1895 the Friends of Old Drawyers was organized to preserve the old church and cemetery and over the years they have kept the church and grounds in exceptional condition. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Beans Cove Methodist Episcopal Church was built in 1881 on the site of an earlier log church which had been built in 1818 by Rev. Thomas Leakins and Rev. John Leasure. The church is located in the very rural area of Clearville, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. The structure was refurbished in 2000 and is in good condition. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 19, 1998.

The Fairview Christian Church in Artemis, Bedford County, Pennsylvania was built in 1875. The church cemetery is located across the street. The church sits atop a hill in a rural setting that is quite nice.

The Mount Joy Church was built in 1860 and used until 1982 when it was closed due to falling attendance. It was the second church to face that fate within a one-mile area, the Harmony Church being the first. Harmony Church is now an exhibit hall used during the annual Harmony Grange Fair. Mt Joy Church sits abandoned, its internal ceiling falling in even after receiving a new tin roof ten years ago. While photographing, I met the neighbor who cuts the lawn at the church. As a child, he and his brother were paid $1 a week to load and start the coal stove each week before Sunday services were held at the church.
