Mom

Not everyone gets a great mom. Someone that is proud of you, listens, encourages, and is with you when you're up or down.

Mom was cheerful through so much adversity in her life. She lost her eyesight from macular-degeneration and never lost sight or vision of what she could contribute to others. Even after losing her eyesight, she traveled with friends and family around the world, went to listen/see theater, the symphony, and the opera. She was always eager to learn new things and about people.

I remember her always having time to listen to people. She had so much patience. It probably came from teaching nursery school for so many years.I wished I had 1/10th of her patience.

Mom, it is such a blessing that I got you. The best mom ever.

I don't need a mother's day to celebrate your life. I celebrate it everyday!

My mom sitting in the garden at her home talking with her daughter in law, in the Bronx last summer. She lives at Katay House and absolutely loves it. She was instrumental in making a sensory garden for people in her home to touch and smell the plants, instead of just looking at beauty, they can touch!!! She's an amazing woman and the best mom anyone could ever wish for. If you ever met her, you'd agree.

Oh, forgot to mention, my mom is blind, lost her eyesight to Macular Degeneration, but she's never lost her vision!
