In der Mitte des kleinen Reliefs erhebt die Königin Maya die Arme und berührt so einen Ast des Plakschabaumes. In diesem Moment gebärt sie aus ihrer rechten Hüfte Siddharta Gautama (Budda), der die Religion des Buddhismus stiften wird. Die Geburt des Buddha hat sich 563 v. Chr. in Lumbini nahe der modernen Grenze ereignet, die Nepal von Indien trennt.

In the center of the small relief Queen Maya raises the arms and touches a trunk of the Plakscha tree. In this moment, from her right hip she gives birth to Siddharta Gautama (Buddha), who will found the Buddhist religion. The birth of Buddha occured in 563 BC at Lumbini near the mordern border separating Nepal and India.
