Running 30" behind schedule after a late cross with DA2. GWA006 and ALF19 resume their journey north, crossing the Katherine River with 5AD1 from Adelaide to Darwin.

GWA008, ALF18 and FQ01 head away from Adelaide River for the last hour of their journey from Adelaide to Darwin as 3AD1.

Typically these services use two locomotives, however, FQ01 was on transfer to assist with a ballast train the following day.

This departure is the earliest of the week from Darwin as this service needs to reach Katherine in time to cross the northbound Sunday departure Ghan service.
