Stuffed and mounted opposite the former Adelaide River railway station, locomotive NSU63 basks in the six months of sunshine during the Northern Territory's "dry season" running from May to October.
63 was one of 14 NSU class locomotives built for the Commonwealth Railways by the Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Company in England during 1954 and 1955 for deployment on the narrow-gauge Central Australia Railway and North Australia Railway.
Today the locomotive resides at Adelaide River, which was once part of the North Australia Railway which spanned 509km from Darwin to Birdum.
