Fire Brigade HQ, Roeland Street

Salt River Fire Station

In 1929, Stanley Thorpe, the fire chief in Brighton, UK, was persuaded to take command of the Brigade, which under his control entered a phase of reorganisation and development. New fire stations were built at Roeland Street, where the central Fire Station and Brigade headquarters were then situated, as well as at Sea Point, Salt River and Wynberg.
