Not having seen a cleaner for quite some time, southbound rebuilt 'Royal Scot' Class 7P 4-6-0 46133 'The Green Howards' has passed the north junction to Lanark and is crossing the south junction as it heads towards Carstairs on 9 June 1962, eight months before it was withdrawn. At the time of the photograph it was probably shedded at Newton Heath 26A, having moved there from Kentish Town 14B in September 1961.

A surprisingly clean Carlisle Kingmoor 12A Clan, 72008 'Clan Macleod', races north towards Lanark Junction with 1S53 on the last day of the Glasgow Fair Fortnight, 1 August 1964. Delivered new to Kingmoor in 1952, it was withdrawn there in April 1966.

Fairbairn 2-6-4T 42142 sits at the east end of Carstairs 66E MPD in the company of three unidentified Black 5's and a BR standard Class 3 2-6-0 on 3 April 1963. At the time of this photograph there were three of these 2-6-0's, but all were transferred away by the end of the year, The Fairbairn tank had been a Royston 20C (later 55D) loco but was a 64D loco by 1955 until it was transferred away in October 1963.

Carlisle Kingmoor 12A Jubilee 45734 sits partly in the shade at the west end of Carstairs 64D shed on 3 April 1963. A Longsight 9A loco in 1950, in the mid- to laye-1950's it was at Bushbury 3B and had moved to Carlisle Upperby 12B by 1960. From there it went to Kingmoor in July 1962 and was withdrawn in December 1963.
