A Captivating Beat

Feel the rhythm of the drums at World Showcase echoing from the main stage beneath the Japan Pavilion’s 5-story pagoda. Marvel at the strength and stamina needed to be one of the Taiko drummers.

The Matsuriza ensemble plays these drums in distinctive musical arrangements while performing dramatic dancing—all in sync. As the show gets going, the beats get faster and their moves intensify.

Japanese Taiko drums have been enthralling audiences for years in religious ceremonies, festivals and even on battlefields as soldiers prayed for victory. Walking through the Japan Pavilion, keep your ear out for their powerful sound and take in the show!
