In May of 2015 I had the good fortune of going on a photographic trip to the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Reserve on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. It was mostly and readily accessible by float plane from Prince Rupert.
There were 6 photographers and a guide on this trip plus the husband and wife who owned and operated the Ocean Light II sail boat. This luxury craft served as our base of operations for the 5 days we spent in this glorious location. We went out each day by zodiac looking for Grizzly Bears (Ursus horribilis) and averaged about 10 bear encounters per day. It was a truly remarkable time and thankfully social distancing was not a requirement at that time.
I felt it was appropriate to show where we lived while we photographed the Grizzly Bears I have posted on Flickr from this area over the past several year.
It was a trip I will not forget in a long time and continue to relive as I go through my thousands of images I captured during that adventure.
