In our continuing run of street drops we've got this little educational gem living his best life on the mean streets of South London. I wonder where he will end up?
In 2001, Karl Glazebrook and Ivan Baldry determined that the average colour of the universe was a greenish white. It came to light just a year later when they corrected their own flawed analysis and reported that their survey of the light from over 200,000 galaxies actually averaged to a slightly beigeish white.
It turns out that wasn't even the focus of their studies but I guess sometimes you learn what life throws your way. Now, quite what that means for us I'm not sure. and the colour of cardboard isn't exactly beige but that was what I was working on. So there.
Cheers

I think everyone has felt a little exasperated at least once over the last year or so. This guy is no exception and is so discombobulated that perhaps his bubble is about to burst. Is it me? Is it you? Is he all of us? At times like this you have to dig deep and think of the quiet elation you’ll feel when this is all over and you can finally go about your business again. It doesn’t seem like ‘getting back to normal’ would ever like winning but I guess a global pandemic allows you appreciate the little things we used to take for granted.

Did you know that ants evolved from wasps? Well, did you? Equally interesting is the fact that it’s thought they may form 15-25% of the biomass of all land animals. And just think how small the little suckers are. That means that there are literally squillions of them out there doing their thing. Anyway all that was just to grab your attention because today’s post isn’t about ants at all. It’s a teaser post for a mural we’ll be doing. I’m confident the more eagle eyed of you will be able to tell where we’re heading…

Can a meme be considered art? Can art be considered a meme? Let’s find out. We’ve taken the classic ‘Cool looking stick I found’ meme and given it a new lease of three dimensional artistic life. Featuring me as an armour clad knight, the stick I found as a powerful and comically oversized sword and the wall as a massive imaginary monster. Except the whole thing is imaginary and only comes into being on finding the cool stick. Make sense? Good.
But is it art? After all, opinions on art are as subjective as memes themselves. Much like everything else in the art world...

We're a bit late to the party with our offering for International Women's Day but given that we're male then it's probably just par for the course. We did start it on International Women's Day so that's in our favour at least. Here we have a proud, empowered and intelligent young lady and that look in her eye tells you that you'd best believe it. We pilfered the International Women's Day circle logo for the background and got a little nod to our adopted home of Brixton in there just for good measure. And there you have it. Long live the matriarchy.
