id-iom’s Yuletide Fundom Demolition Sale - Absolutely everything must go!
Now here we are again settling in and hunkering down ready for those cold winter months and it’s getting so that you don’t want to go out - especially to be traipsing around the same shops as everyone else buying uninspired Christmas gifts. So, here at id-iom we’ve decided to hold a Yuletide Fundom Demolition Sale!
This has mainly been inspired by the fact that we have had to move out of our basement studio as the building it’s in is getting demolished. We’ve been covering our attempts to give the old girl some new interior decoration on our blog (www.thisisidiom.wordpress.com) so at least she’ll be looking good for her final bow.
As of yet we haven’t been able to find anywhere else so are having to get rid of a lot of stuff that has been hidden away in various nooks and crannies (and it was a pretty big space!) But it’s also because we are a pair of Santa’s little helpers in a gonzo artists guise. We will be selling all the artwork that we’ve had lurking in the studio on Ebay and starting them off at cheap and letting them go for whatever it is they go for. There will undoubtedly be bargains to be had.
Our idea is to start all paper items off at £0.99 and all canvas pieces at whatever cost a replacement blank canvas costs right now.
We’ll be adding more on a pretty much daily basis in the run up to Xmas (and possibly beyond) so check back regularly for updates. We hope you can find an original bit of art for a loved (or maybe even someone you don’t really like if you’re that kind of person). The very best of luck if you’re bidding...
This piece is: Batman & Robin - The Early Years
An unique A3 screen print on paper with hand finishing. This is a brand new print that we haven't featured anywhere else. Signed on reverse.

Now Herod wasn’t the nicest person who’s ever lived but that doesn’t mean the people involved in this little pop up shop are the same, in fact quite the opposite. From Herrod himself:
"We’re not only stocking fine contemptorary art, porcelain with a twist, but there’s also an exclusive selection of retro garments nestled in one corner. We think it’s possibly a one-stop-chrimbo-present-buyin-shop… but then we are biased (and delusional)."
If your in the area i would definitely suggest popping in. I was down there the other day setting up and saw some absolutely fantastic pieces from the likes of Rowan Newton, Carl Cashaman, Remi Rough, SPQR and Agent Provocateur to name a few. Oh and us as well!!!
The pop up shop is only open for this week can be found near Waterloo station at:
95-96 Lower Marsh, London SE1 7AB
Monday 17 to Monday 24 December
11am to 6pm / Wednesday 19 ’til 8pm
Cheers

So here's our latest piece on slate called 'Lightning Bolt' which is now framed up and good to go. This will be exclusively for sale at the Herrods pop up shop - which is open for this week only at 95/96 Lower Marsh St near Waterloo.
I think perhaps the colour palette and background stencils were subconsciously inspired by Olympic superstar Jamaican Usain Bolt. Although I haven't got a particularly good reason for printing a skeleton on there other than the fact i thought it looked good. I particularly like how when printing on slate you get a grungy look to the print due to imperfections on the surface of the slate - which I think gives it a little more character. Hopefully it will get snapped up this week and we won't have to bring it back home with us...

Christmas and New Year have been and gone so I guess our Yuletide Demolition Sale should just become the id-iom Demolition Sale (brought on by the demolition of our studio space - check our blog at www.thisisidiom.wordpress.com for some demolition porn soon). Anyway, i digress, we are starting this fantastically amusing piece at £2.99 as we've checked and that is the cost to replace the luscious hand made rag paper that this one-of-a-kind screen print is printed on. This is an original 2 layer screen print on some fancy hand dyed (by us) handmade (by somebody else) rag paper. It will look lovely framed so i'm expecting some lively bidding. Here's the link
This entirely original document was recovered from an archaeological dig in the American mid-west which just goes to show that email, and by extension, email scams have been around for a lot longer than you'd have thought. I'm guessing since about the 1880's judging by the carbon dating result on this unique artefact. And if you'll believe that I can let you have it for the bargain price of one million dollars!
Oh how amusing to think of strong-armed cowboys getting blagged by this simple phishing email attack. If only they had the sophistication of us modern day internet warriors! Then they could never be fooled!
In all seriousness though I am a convert to the world of scam emails. I used to get quite annoyed with the amount of missives I received asking for my assistance in getting millions of dollars out of Africa - but now I just love them. I can't get enough. I grade them on spelling ability, blag appeal, amount of money offered and various other key indicators then I pick the best for a re-design (although sometimes I can't help but correct spelling mistakes). I really hope someone likes this enough to buy it so I can be vindicated in my obsession and forge ahead and do more.
Also, it is, of course, taken from a 'genuine' scam mail so if you are into scam baiting then feel free to email Mr Mark Aburi (at aburimar777@gmail.com) and see what you can get away with...
Cheers
