The Kabot Brothers supplied Ford with a unique pick up bed for the Rhodesian-assembled Ford F-100. It is my understanding that the F-100 went into production in Rhodesia (now Zmbaubwe) in the forth quarter of 1961, which means that the first trucks were probably 1962 models, but '61 and '62's would be appear identical from this angle.

The Willowvale Assembly plant was built by Ford of Canada and opened in 1961, producing a wide range of Canadian, British and German Ford products. Production stopped in 1966 due to international sanctions aimed at the government of what was then called Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). The plant still exists and has passed through several owners. From 1989 to 2014 the plant was owned by Mazda, who built Ford Lasers alongside their Mazda 323s.

Ford Rhodesia General Sales Manager Dennis Snowdon and a batch of new Zephyrs. The factory was on Dagenham Road and ran from 1961 to 1966. The history is murky during the period of the UN sanctions (1966-1979), but in recent decades the plant has been used to build Mazda’s. Don’t know what the current status is.
