The members of the troupe live in Santa Ana, in a community of Zapotec immigrants originally from Teotitlan del Valle, Oaxaca. Before forming the troupe, them asked permission from the traditional civil and religious authorities of Teotitlan. Here, they have returned to Oaxaca to perform the Danza de la Pluma in its original setting.
