WWT Slimbridge.
Green sandpipers mainly hunt their prey by sight, picking crustaceans and invertebrates off the water’s surface. They do also occasionally find food by probing the wet ground and shallow waters with their long bill. They have also been observed turning over large underwater stones in search of leeches and worms.
