Cleeve Common.

The common puffball grows on the ground in woodlands and grasslands, often occurring in small clusters. When a fruiting body is mature, a hole opens at the top. When the puffball is bumped by a passing animal or even hit by raindrops, a cloud of spores is puffed out of the hole. The spores will drift away on the wind and help the fungus spread.

The rook is a common bird with around one million pairs breeding in the UK each year. It occurs in farmland and open country. A raucous relative of the crow.

After a day foraging in the fields, rooks head to the trees en masse; a noisy congregation settling down for a good night’s sleep among the branches at the rookery.

Beech is associated with femininity and is often considered the queen of British trees, where oak is the king. In Celtic mythology, Fagus was the god of beech trees. The tree was thought to have medicinal properties and its leaves were boiled to make a poultice which was used to relieve swellings. Forked beech twigs are also traditionally used for divining.

Eurasian blue tits, usually resident and non-migratory birds, are widespread and a common resident breeder throughout temperate and subarctic Europe and the western Palearctic in deciduous or mixed woodlands with a high proportion of oak. They usually nest in tree holes, although they easily adapt to nest boxes where necessary.

Light wasn't great. I really like these little birds and thought it a shame not to show this!

Male Yellowhammers are unmistakeable with a bright yellow head and underparts, brown back streaked with black, and a chestnut rump. In flight, it shows white outer tail feathers. They're often seen perched on top of a hedge or bush, singing. Its recent population decline makes it a UK Birds of Conservation Concern Red List species.
