2nd Long Break 2nd Night 2nd Leg Of 2nd K9 Road Trip - IMRAN™
Since both my preferred 2-large-dogs-welcome hotels in my preferred midway point on my road trip, in Raleigh, NC were sold out I had to stop overnight in Lumberton NC instead. It was a lovely comfortable stay as you saw in my two dogs’ previous two pictures, although the town was not my first choice.
It also meant the second day went from an estimated 10-hours driving day to a 12-hours driving — plus of course also meaning extra time for extra journey breaks — type of day.
At this 2nd longer stop, in Maryland after one in Virginia, I pulled over at the farthest point of the huge rest area. It gave both dogs a chance to walk and even play wrestle for a while in clean green grass. That also meant they both were ready to nap while I “relaxed” by catching up on emails and messages.
We spent a full hour here and I got them out for three separate walks and food in the surprisingly nippy 50s Fahrenheit temps of the northeast. Northern autumns are like Florida winters.
Then it was time to get on the nearly 5-6 hours final dog leg of the journey. K2 slept and Kennedy as always sat upright most of the trip. He was literally savoring all the visual and other inputs he was receiving despite it being night time.
